Qualifications:
• Ability to perform work involving physical strength and endurance
• Knowledge (or the ability to gain knowledge) of the methods utilized in general mechanic work
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements to operate a school bus within six (6) months of employment (or ability to obtain within six (6) months of meeting FDOT licensing requirements)
• High school diploma or equivalent*Preferred
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate. Performance Responsibilities:
• Assists mechanics in the repair of vehicles.
• Assists in repairs to engines.
• Maintains garage area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Performs tire maintenance and replacement operations.
• Assists in school bus- and other district- vehicles (scheduled) inspections.
• Maintains effective working relationship with other employees.
• Assists in motor vehicle road calls and recoveries.
• Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned.
