CLASS TITLE: Maintenance Tech I CLASS CODE: 7445 REPORTS TO: Director/Maintenance Supervisor/Designee EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt BASIC FUNCTION: Performs skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of district buildings and equipment. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks across multiple building systems and trades Repair and maintain building components such as windows, doors, and roofs

• Construct, rebuild, and modify district equipment and facilities as assigned

• Safely operate saws, drill presses, and other power/hand tools

• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, codes, and regulations

• Maintain accurate records of work completed, labor, and materials used

• Pick up and deliver materials and equipment using district vehicles

• Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, appropriate appearance, and consistent, reliable attendance

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in skilled trades

• Ability to interpret drawings and follow instructions

• Strong understanding of health, safety, and building codes

• Ability to work independently, estimate labor/materials, and meet deadlines

• Effective communication skills and basic recordkeeping

• Requires speech, vision, and hearing capabilities

• Work involves both indoor and occasional outdoor activity

• Stand & move for extended periods; lift, push, pull, carry, etc. up to 50 lbs. repetitively; kneel, crouch, sit, etc.

• Use technology, including computers, interactive whiteboards, audio-visual equipment, etc.

• Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and follow all board and school policies

• Any combination equivalent to: High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law

• Two years of journey-level experience in one or more trades (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.)
