Position Requirements:
• Must hold a valid New York State (NYS) certification as a Reading Teacher or Literacy Specialist.
Role Overview: The Reading Specialist provides research-based reading interventions to accelerate learning for students performing one or more grade levels below their expected reading level. This role is essential in supporting literacy development across all grade levels, from Kindergarten through Grade 8. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver small group instruction tailored to individual student needs in reading and literacy.
• Use data-driven strategies to monitor progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support literacy instruction and student achievement.
• Facilitate professional development for staff focused on literacy best practices, assessment, and intervention techniques.
