Central DeWitt Community School District Human Resources/Payroll Specialist Job Description July 2026 Position: Human Resources/Payroll Specialist Qualifications: High School Graduate, 2- or 4-year degree preferred, payroll experience preferred Reports To: Chief Financial Officer POSITION SUMMARY: To perform all activities necessary to process all payrolls accurately and in a timely manner, and to provide employee benefits and accounting support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS (but not limited to):

• Responsible for all district payroll processes and activities, including monthly payroll. • Responsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with state and federal regulations and timely filing of all payroll tax reports, bi-monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Responsible for all tax deposits without penalty. • Processes and calculates all involuntary deductions, such as levies and garnishments; communicates with the agencies involved. • Administers a variety of deductions and remits payment to the corresponding agencies. • Maintains payroll and uploads accumulated sick, vacation, and personal days. • Prepares various payroll reports for auditors. • Provides onboarding/offboarding for new, retiring, and resigned employees. • Completes forms of verification and wage-earning reports from regulatory agencies. • Prepares and issues all employee and extracurricular contracts/letters of assignment. • Creates and maintains all employee, substitute, and coach records. • Sets up and deactivates employee access in various applications. • Administers workers' compensation, unemployment, FMLA, and other state and federal employment-related claims, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies. • Helps prepare the personnel report and hiring recommendations for School Board meetings. • Is responsible for ACA reporting and issuing 1095s. • Helps prepare and complete IPERS forms for employees and keeps employee information up to date on the IPERS website. • Works extensively in software systems to perform a variety of tasks, including rollover of absence balances, creating a master calendar, setting up vacancies, and entering closed days. • Processes receipts and deposits for the Administration Center. • Performs such other duties as necessary.
