Position: Cook Location: High School Assignment: Monday through Friday (10 Months) Starting August 2026 Shift: Full-time (8.00 hours) Monday - Friday 5:30am - 2:00pm Summary: The Food Service Full Time Cook is responsible for preparing and/or building food items from standardized recipes while providing customer service, line support, adhering to food safety, food handling and sanitation procedures. Responsibilities:
• Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Maintains cooking and cooling logs
• Sets-up and breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes work stations and equipment
• Replenishes food items and ensures product is stocked to appropriate levels by batch cooking
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to District policies and procedures which include proper food safety and sanitation
• Be available for catering events, including in-service days & evenings
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Manager
Education/Requirements:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related experience and/or training preferred: or equivalent of education and experience.
• Previous cooking and/or food service experience preferred
• Previous experience with commercial kitchen equipment preferred
• Ability to read, understand and size standardized recipes
• Must be able to obtain food safety certification
• Knowledge of production records and recipes
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
