Examples of Duties: The 0.365 FTE In-School Resource Teachers assigned to support Sunset View Elementary are responsible for providing instruction to students in TK–4th grade through scheduled 50-minute class periods throughout each school day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Teachers will see multiple classes each day, working with a different group of students during each instructional block. Instruction will follow 10-week enrichment cycles, allowing students across all grade levels to participate in meaningful, focused learning experiences throughout the school year. The school is seeking qualified and enthusiastic part-time Enrichment Teachers to provide specialized enrichment instruction for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 4th grade. Three positions are available in the areas of Fine Arts, STEAM, and Mindfulness. These positions are funded through the school foundation and are designed to remain part-time. Due to the part-time nature of the positions, they are not eligible for benefits. The Fine Arts Enrichment Teacher will provide students with opportunities to explore visual arts through the study of artists, art history, art movements, artistic techniques, and creative processes. Students will engage in hands-on projects designed to build artistic skills, creativity, confidence, and appreciation for the arts. The STEAM Enrichment Teacher will provide students with hands-on learning experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Using the Young Engineers curriculum, students will engage in exploration, design challenges, collaboration, and problem-solving. The Mindfulness Enrichment Teacher will provide students with opportunities to develop mindfulness practices, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and skills that support overall well-being and positive relationships.
The incumbent will be expected to:
• Provide enrichment instruction every Tuesday and Wednesday during the full school day.
• Teach multiple 50-minute instructional periods each day to students in TK–4th grade.
• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons through 10-week enrichment cycles.
• Adapt instruction to meet the needs of students across a wide range of elementary grade levels.
• Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom routines, student engagement, and transitions effectively.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership as needed.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with students and staff.
• Support the school's mission of providing enriching educational experiences that develop the whole child.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Qualified applicants must have experience supporting students within the related subject area (Fine Arts, STEAM, or Mindfulness/ social-emotional learning/ Wellness). Licenses and Other Requirements: Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential by the closing date of the application deadline.
