Jenks Public Schools Job Description Position: Driver Education Coordinator Reports To: Director of Community Education Supervises: Driver Education Instructors Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Bachelor Degree and endorsement of Driver Safety Education required.

• Commercial Driving Instructor license from Oklahoma State Department of Public Safety.

• Demonstrate ability to use oral and written communication effectively.

• Proficient computer and clerical skills required.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with students and adults required.

• Excellent organizational skills with high sensitivity to detail is essential.

• Satisfy all district requirements with regards to physical health and citizenship.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goals: To coordinate and facilitate implementation and operation of Community Education's Driver Education Safety Program. Performance Responsibilities:

• Serve as instructor for thirty (30) hours of classroom instructor per session.

• Create an environment that is conducive to student learning and driving procedures.

• Recommend and collaborate with the Community Education office to determine dates of class sessions for the year.

• Coordinate driving schedule for instructors and students.

• Monitor student absences and communicate to students and parents any changed enrollment status.

• Prepare and submit to Community Education Director the yearly state report for reimbursement in a timely manner.

• Monitor Instructor Certification, Assurances, and Permit (ICAP) for each certified driver instructor and submit to State Department of Education and Department of Public Safety requests for new ICAP's within appropriate time.

• Provide program information for the state Accreditation Report to the high school each year.

• Provide assistance in the driver instructor hiring process.

• Provide communication to the Community Education office about any changes in the program schedule.

• Approve and submit labor statements for driver instructors.

• Provide and collaborate information with District's transportation department in regard to school vehicles usage and service status.

• Maintains positive reinforcement with students and staff.

• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
