SUPERVISOR: Principal FLSA: Exempt TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months GENERAL DESCRIPTION We are in search of a dynamic candidate who will effectively teach students the assigned curriculum. The candidate will also work with students to develop skills that will contribute to students developing as mature, able and responsible men and women. The candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating instruction based upon specific goals and objectives established by King William County Public Schools and Virginia Standards of Learning. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a collegiate or postgraduate professional license or be eligible for a provisional license with endorsement(s) in the designated content area.

• Teaching experience at the designated academic level and Master's Degree preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of current practices, techniques, and methods of teaching; the principles of educational testing and principles and methods of remedial education.

• Ability to apply age appropriate, modern methods and principles of education to students.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES AND ABILITIES

• Participate in curriculum review and design.

• Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.

• Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely manner.

• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

• Provide progress reports as required to student and parents.

• Effectively implement district initiatives.

• Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.

• Participate in professional development opportunities.

WORKING CONDITIONS This job operates in a professional, school environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
