About this role
Position: Maintenance Technician Assignment: Full-Time Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30-11pm Location: District-wide Summary: Performs skilled maintenance, repair, and installation work for district facilities including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. Responsibilities: General Maintenance:
• Perform skilled maintenance and repairs including roofing, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, concrete, HVAC, painting, snow removal, and event setups.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on facilities and equipment.
• Estimate repair costs, source parts, and install and test equipment with supervisor approval.
• Maintain building security including cutting keys, repairing, and replacing locks.
• Conduct safety and code inspections and maintain records.
• Inspect and maintain pool mechanical systems and ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations (Certified Pool Operator license required within 90 days
• Serve as essential personnel during facility emergencies.
• Participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotation.
• Order materials and maintain accurate records for assigned work.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and report safety concerns.
• Complete required paperwork and perform other duties as assigned
Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing:
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Install and service electrical systems including power, lighting, control circuits, panels, transformers, and motor controls.
• Diagnose electrical issues using testing equipment; working knowledge of 120V, 208V, 277V, and 480V three-phase systems.
• Repair and maintain HVAC systems including refrigeration, heating systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and ventilation equipment.
• Perform HVAC diagnostics using gauges, multimeters, and other testing devices; understand refrigeration cycles and combustion systems.
• Perform basic plumbing maintenance including pipes, fixtures, valves, and drainage systems.
• Monitor and adjust control panels, thermostats, and computerized Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a trade apprenticeship program or trade school certification, preferred.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related trade experience or relevant educational facility experience.
• Trade Certification/license/degree, preferred.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Certified Pool Operator license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, students, and community members.
• Knowledge of applicable safety codes, inspection regulations, and district policies.
• Proficiency with smartphones, computers, and programs such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Work performed indoors and outdoors, including near mechanical equipment.
• Be able to demonstrate required job skills for the job.
• Post Offer, must complete a Drug Test, Physical/TB Test, Background Clearances and complete a Worker Capacity Evaluation.
