Position: Anticipated 1.0 Spanish Teacher - Long Term Substitute Location: .4 High School/.6 Eisenhower Dates of Assignment: August 19, 2026 through LDTR (26-27 SY) Summary: To facilitate student mastery of designated subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible individuals. The successful candidate will foster a motivating classroom environment, establish effective rapport with students, and maintain collaborative partnerships with parents and colleagues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach district-approved curriculum to high school and elementary students grades 1-4.
• Plan a program of study and develop lesson plans and instructional material that is developmentally appropriate, as well as meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, maintain discipline and utilize appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth, seeking the assistance of district specialists, as required.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, school counselors and administrators regarding student issues.
• Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members.
• Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs.
• Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy.
• Travel between the High School and Eisenhower Elementary school on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and valid secondary teaching certificate in identified content area.
• Strong background in Spanish instruction.
• Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
• Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administration and parents.
• Effective oral and written communication.
