We currently have an exciting opportunity with a globally known brand for an Seaweed Harvesting & Processing Assistant based in Sligo. Daily training will be provided by our expert harvesters for the successful participant and gives a great opportunity to learn about our industry. The participant will be trained in seaweed harvesting techniques, sorting, hanging and drying seaweed at our production facility in Sligo, processing seaweed into finished products for our customers, maintaining a hygienic facility floor, upkeep of our company vehicles after harvesting and maintaining accurate records. Formal training to include e-learning and certification programmes covering Health & Safety, Manual Handling, Risk assessments. The participant will also have the opportunity to undertake accredited training, including Forklift Operation certification and other role-specific qualifications as required. Informal learning will take place through day-to-day supervision, mentoring, and hands-on experience, enabling the participant to develop practical skills, gain confidence in carrying out their duties, and build a understanding of workplace procedures and best practices. Continued learning and development opportunities will be provided throughout the placement to support the participant's ongoing professional growth.. This is a training and work experience opportunity, no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. The participant will receive both formal and informal training relevant to the role. Training will be delivered through a combination of onsite learning, coaching, mentoring, and practical experience within the workplace. Formal Training: - Seaweed harvesting techniques to include molding, cutting and milling machines - Sorting, hanging and drying seaweed - Processing seaweed into finished products for our customers, - Health & Safety - Hygiene Informal Training: - Upkeep of our company vehicles after harvesting - Maintaining accurate records - Teamwork - Communication Skills
