About this role
We are offering a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in outdoor work. As a Groundsperson Trainee, you’ll gain valuable skills and experience in garden maintenance, grounds care, working as part of a community-driven social enterprise. During this 6-month placement you will receive training, guidance, and practical experience to help you develop your skills and understanding of the role. You will be supported throughout the placement and given the opportunity to learn and develop in the following: * Assisting with grass care, weeding and hedge trimming * Learning about seasonal maintenance and plant care * Using tools and equipment under supervision * Helping with small projects to improve and maintain community spaces What You’ll Gain * Practical groundskeeping experience * Teamwork and time management skills * Mentoring and guidance from experienced staff * Experience that could lead to future employment in groundskeeping. This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
