About this role

Job summary

We are looking to recruit additional Radiography Assistants in the Diagnostic Imaging Department and would love to hear from you if you are an organised individual interested in patient care.

Radiography Assistants are essential for the smooth running of the Diagnostic Imaging service, supporting both patients and staff with a range of diagnostic imaging procedures.

Main duties of the job

The roleincludes:

Clinical support and patient care during imaging procedures involving MRI, CT and X-Ray. Assistingin movement of beds, wheel chairs, and patients using manual handling equipment provided. Preparing the clinical rooms for procedures and working aseptically during procedures. Entering data into the radiology computer system. Communicating with members of staff outside of the department to arrange complex scanning procedures.

We are looking for a motivated and caring individual who is ready to learn new skills and join our friendly team.

The department operates a seven day service and shifts involving evenings, weekends and community hospital sites.

Person Specification

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TR Desirable

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care

EXPERIENCE Essential

Patient care - experience of working with patients, vulnerable groups

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE Essential

Evidence of ability to communicate with all levels of staff and members of the general public Evidence of ability to work under pressure

Evidence of ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team An understanding of the meaning of confidentiality and the requirement for this to be maintained Evidence of basic computer skills Understanding of the radiology department
