Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the research team at Spectrum. The post holder to work closely with and support Research Team in the delivery of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Portfolio studies across Spectrum services. The post will involve the correct identification, recruitment, delivery and follow up for research participants. The post holder will need good interpersonal skills to facilitatecollaborative working relationships across a breadth of stakeholders. The postholder will be required to forge strong, positive relationships with patients, participants, carers and members of the public in the course of delivering research studies and support the safeconduct of research in accordance with the Research Governance Framework, for clinical trials in accordance with the International Conference on Harmonisation - Good ClinicalPractice (ICH - GCP) guidelines/EU Directive.
Main duties of the job
To assist with the coordination of the patient's journey through the clinical trial protocol e.g. organisation of any necessary investigations, follow up appointments and procedures.
Carry out clinical procedures i.e. vital signs, ECG's, body measurements, obtain blood/urine /sputum samples in accordance with each protocol's requirements and process/ship all samples as per study requirements.
Co-ordination of any required pre-study tests, obtaining results and arranging appointments as per protocol.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of data systems and undertake data entry as per study requirements.
Assist in the writing of research related SOP's as per study/trial
Provide training/supervision to members of the research team, RRDN Agile Team and/or students.
Work in collaboration with partner organisations to increase research opportunities for patients.

Educated to A level or equivalent NVQ3/foundation degree in a Healthcare related subject or working towards. Developing knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including ICH Good Clinical Practice. Experience of data management/administration preferably in a health or care setting. Computer literate with experience of the use of web applications, Microsoft Office, Excel An understanding of confidentiality issues Good planning and organisational skills. An interest in Health research. Ability to understand and follow complex Laboratory Manuals and Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)
Desirable
ompleted or working towards a Care Certificate. Site File Management Knowledge of research databases Phlebotomy experience Experience of caring for patients/participants enrolled in research studies.
