About this role
The Research and Innovation team supports the Canada Energy Regulator's (CER) mandate by serving as a centre of excellence in data-driven risk assessment, analysis, and strategic engagement. The team leverages data, scientific evidence, and insights to monitor and assess emerging and systemic risks in the energy sector, informing proactive regulatory oversight and continuous improvement in safety and environmental protection. The team also advances regulatory cooperation and leads key initiatives on safety culture, providing expertise and guidance to internal programs and external partnersReporting to the Director of Research and Innovation, the incumbent acts as a senior technical resource responsible for providing strategic advice to CER staff, executives and the Board on regulatory policy initiatives for proactive planning and informed decision-making across the organization.
