Job summary The role of Activities Co-Ordinator at Firtree House, a 42-bedded residential, nursing and dementia care home in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is a vital one. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of engaging activities and events that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for the home's residents. This is a permanent position offering 30 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of £12.55.

Main duties of the job As the Activities Co-Ordinator, you will be the driving force behind creating a vibrant and stimulating environment for the residents. Your role will involve planning and facilitating a diverse range of activities, including social, recreational, educational and therapeutic events. You will work closely with the care team to understand the individual needs and preferences of the residents, and tailor the activities accordingly. Strong interpersonal and creative skills are essential, as you will be responsible for encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community within the home.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Relevant experience in a similar role within a care setting is preferred, but not essential. A passion for working with older adults and a genuine desire to enhance their wellbeing are the key requirements. Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are also crucial for this position.
