With Heart.</strong></p><p>Siegwerk in Des Moines is looking to add Production Technicians to our manufacturing team! Employees in these positions will be cross-trained in all areas of the manufacturing facility and will rotate as needed to support operations.</p> <p><strong>Shift availalable: 6:00 pm-6:00 am, Monday-Wednesday, every other Sunday </strong></p> <p><strong>Starting rate is $20/hour plus applicable shift differentials. </strong></p> <p>Our Production Technicians are crucial to the operation of our business as they are responsible for the creation of our inks. As a Production Technician you will be responsible for combining proper quantities of materials needed to produce inks and bases; filtering finished products into proper containers; operating production equipment; and ensuring accurate labeling and movement of product to the shipping area.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Set up and operate equipment (pre-batch, milling, and dispensing) per procedures. Monitor equipment for proper operation, function and safety.</li> <li>Accurately weigh each item/component and combine as directed on the batch ticket; selects proper equipment for processing.</li> <li>Takes samples of ink to QC Lab. Adjusts batches of ink as needed for quality control.</li> <li>Properly filter and/or strain large/small batches of ink.</li> <li>Accurately weigh all containers and sets scale accordingly. Ensures proper containers are used and prepared for shipping.</li> <li>Pump large/small batches of ink into proper containers. Take measures to ensure accuracy.</li> <li>Choose appropriate labels and ensure correct labeling.</li> <li>Perform shipping and receiving duties as needed.</li> <li>Assist with maintenance when needed.</li> <li>Thoroughly clean all containers, still & work area including floors, walls and equipment.</li> <li>Complete product sheets, checking for accuracy.</li> <li>Communicate status of work to other shifts, as needed.</li> <li>Prioritize workflow on their assigned machine or equipment.</li> <li>As needed, serves as back up for other production technicians or other production staff.</li> <li>Perform minor maintenance functions on equipment following the preventative maintenance schedule.</li> <li>Participate in department meetings regarding a variety of topics, i.e., safety, process improvement, plant operations.</li> <li>Participate in completion of annual Physical Inventory.</li> <li>Stop ink shipments if quality is in question and report to manager.</li> <li> <div>Follow all safety procedures, environmental requirements, permit conditions, and safe work practices.</div> </li> <li> <div>Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.</div> </li> <li> <div>Handle, label, store, and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.</div> </li> <li> <div>Comply with environmental programs related to hazardous waste, spill prevention, stormwater protection, chemical storage, air emissions, and pollution prevention.Immediately report safety incidents, near misses, spills, equipment malfunctions, and environmental concerns.</div> </li> <li> <div>Participate in inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.</div> </li> <li> <div>Follow operating procedures designed to maintain environmental compliance and promptly report abnormal operating conditions or potential environmental impacts.</div> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</strong></p> <p>• Ability to operate forklift and other powered industrial equipment as required.</p> <p>• Ability to use computers comfortably in an automated facility.</p> <p>• Ability to multi-task and abide by a set schedule.</p> <p>• Ability to read and interpret documents in English. This includes safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence</p> <p>• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved wreitten or oral instructions.
