Job summary Our multi-award-winning organisation is seeking a Relief Kitchen Assistant to join our Hospitality team on a casual, as-needed basis. This role may include some weekend shifts and involves supporting the delivery of high-quality hospitality services across our Campus, Care Homes, and Community Centres. The position ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while assisting in food preparation, service, and maintaining hygiene standards.
Main duties of the job The Relief Kitchen Assistant will play a key role in providing excellent hospitality services. Duties include preparing basic food items such as vegetables, salads, and sandwiches, arranging food counters and dining areas, serving hot and cold meals and beverages, and operating the till when required. The role demands attention to hygiene, teamwork, and the ability to work independently. This casual position is ideal for those with prior kitchen experience seeking flexible hours.

The role of Kitchen Assistant will involve the delivery of Hospitality Services within our Campus, Care Homes, and Community Centres to excellent standards.
This post is for a Relief/ Bank Kitchen assistant to provide absence cover on an as and when required basis - casual hours.
What you will be doing You will have a key role ensuring we deliver an excellent service to our customers, creating an inviting and pleasant environment. Your core duties will involve:
Basic food preparation including vegetables, salads, and sandwiches Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and presentable environment Preparing and arranging food counters and dining areas, ready for service Serving hot & cold food and beverages Operating the till and cashing up when required
Who are we looking for? You will ideally have previous experience working within a busy kitchen environment, working both independently and within a team. You will need:
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to undertake this qualification) Great communication skills, confident speaking to a range of people Good literacy and numeracy skills Willing to undertake appropriate training (e.g., Supervision, NVQ Training)
