Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and proactive Facilities Quality, Project & Training Officer to join our Facilities Management Team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting the delivery of high-quality cleaning and catering services across our community hospitals and mental health sites.

Working closely with Facilities Managers, clinical teams, Infection Prevention and Control colleagues and operational staff, you will help ensure our environments remain clean, safe and welcoming for patients, visitors and staff.

Main duties of the job

As a Facilities Quality, Project & Training Officer, you will play a key role in:

Supporting the delivery of quality improvement initiatives across Facilities services.Conducting audits, reviewing performance data and helping implement action plans.Delivering training, competency assessments and BICS-related learning programmes.Supporting projects from scoping and data collection through to implementation and evaluation.Promoting compliance with national standards, including NHS National Standards of Cleanliness, PLACE and Hospital Food Review requirements.Working collaboratively with operational, clinical and corporate teams to drive continuous improvement.Producing reports, analysing data and presenting findings to stakeholders.Supporting the introduction of new systems, equipment, procedures and service developments.We are looking for someone who can combine strong organisational skills with the ability to influence and engage others.If you're ready to use your quality, training and project skills to make a tangible difference to patient environments and service standards, we'd love to hear from you.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Vocational Level 3 qualification appropriate to the post, or working towards within agreed timescale Level 3 Award in Food Safety in Catering, or completed within agreed timescale

Experience Essential

Experience of the use of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook Experience of time management using own judgement in prioritising and rescheduling Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies

Desirable

Evidence of self-development and/or training in administration and/or office practice including update training of software applications

Additional Criteria Essential

Understanding of Infection Control procedures Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations Knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) is required as cleaning chemicals form part of the cleaning procedure Knowledge of Catering and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Desirable

Level 3 HACCP Certificate
