Main duties of the job The Housekeeping Assistant role at Avery Healthcare focusses on being a part of a team dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and handling laundry operations at Newcross Care Home in Wolverhampton. In this role, youll make a positive impact on residents' lives every day, ensuring a respectful and compassionate atmosphere. Working in line with Avery's operational procedures, you will carry out cleaning duties according to given instructions, understand cleaning requirements for different surfaces, and ensure the care home maintains high standards. Responsibilities also include treating resident spaces with dignity, being flexible in your role, and contributing to the supportive and enriching environment Avery strives to provide for residents and staff alike. This role requires an understanding of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments, essential for maintaining the wellbeing of the home's community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus asHousekeepingAssistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry aremaintainedin the home. You willoperateaccording to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards aremaintained.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

Carrying out all cleaning dutiesin accordance withworksheetinstructions. Understandingthe cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition. Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected..

Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments. Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting. The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Knowledge of Health and Safety practices, particularly regarding Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments. Experience in laundry cleaning within a public setting is essential. Ideal candidates should demonstrate compassion and a commitment to delivering high-quality housekeeping and laundry services to residents, alongside the ability to be flexible and adaptive to cover various responsibilities at short notice.
