We're looking for a motivated and proactive Management Accountant to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while partnering with operational managers to provide meaningful financial insight and support decision-making
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive management accounting service to a designated portfolio of services, delivering accurate and timely financial information, budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial advice. The post holder will work independently to produce monthly financial reports, support budget holders in the management of their budgets, and contribute to the delivery of the organisation's financial objectives

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT). The company provides a number of services such as outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, George Eliot, University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire and St Cross (Rugby) hospitals; estates and facilities management at Warwick, Stratford upon Avon and Ellen Badger hospitals, Acorn House and Lillington Health Hub; private patient service and consultancy services to NHS Trusts.
Subject to the Company and individual's performance, an annual discretionary bonus will be awarded.

Financial Management
Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for an allocated portfolio.
Monitor budgets and investigate significant variances, providing clear commentary and recommendations.
Prepare monthly forecasts and contribute to the annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
Ensure financial information is accurate, robust, and delivered within agreed timescales.
Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and budget adjustments.
Business Partnering
Act as the first point of contact for budget holders within the allocated portfolio.
Provide professional financial advice and challenge to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Attend divisional and budget review meetings, presenting financial information in a clear and meaningful way.
Support managers in identifying financial risks, opportunities, and efficiency savings.
Financial Control
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
Ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions, financial policies, and accounting standards.
Maintain effective financial controls and accurate audit trails.
Financial Analysis
Analyse financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Support the preparation of business cases, investment appraisals, and costings
Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support operational requirements.
Service Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
Contribute to the development of reporting tools and standardisation of financial processes.
Support the implementation of new financial systems and process improvements where required.
General
Build effective working relationships with Finance colleagues and operational managers.
Provide cover for other Management Accountants as required.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
AAT qualified or part-qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant, or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience Essential
Significant experience in a management accounting role. Experience of budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting. Experience of advising managers on financial performance.
Skills Essential
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Personal Qualities Essential
Ability to manage a varied workload independently and meet competing deadlines.
Other Desirable
Experience within the NHS or wider public sector. Knowledge of NHS financial governance and budgeting processes. Experience using integrated financial ledger systems.
