<h1><span><strong>Job Description</strong></span></h1> <h2><span><strong>Manager – Design (Civil) </strong></span></h2> <h1><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Location: Gurgaon, Haryana</span><br><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Business: Renewables SBU – Solar Projects</span><br><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Department: Design & Engineering (Civil)</span></h1> <h3><span><strong>Job Purpose</strong></span></h3> <p>To lead and manage civil design and engineering activities for utility-scale Solar PV projects, ensuring timely delivery of optimized, cost-effective, and technically compliant civil engineering solutions. The role involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project execution from concept to commissioning.</p> <h3><span><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Lead the civil design and engineering activities for utility-scale Solar PV projects from concept to commissioning.</li> <li>Review and approve civil engineering drawings, calculations, layouts, and technical specifications.</li> <li>Develop and review foundation designs for Module Mounting Structures (MMS), inverter stations, control rooms, transformers, and other project infrastructure.</li> <li>Review site grading, earthwork, drainage, storm water management, road layouts, fencing, and boundary wall designs.</li> <li>Coordinate geotechnical investigations and incorporate soil investigation findings into foundation and structural designs.</li> <li>Optimize civil designs through value engineering while ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.</li> <li>Coordinate with Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Procurement, Project Execution, Quality, and EHS teams for seamless project delivery.</li> <li>Review technical documents, BOQs, vendor drawings, and consultant deliverables for design compliance.</li> <li>Provide engineering support during tendering, construction, commissioning, and project handover.</li> <li>Resolve design-related technical issues during project execution and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.</li> <li>Monitor engineering schedules and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with Indian Standards (IS), NBC, client specifications, and statutory regulations.</li> <li>Lead and mentor the civil design team while driving continuous improvement and engineering excellence.</li> </ul> <h3><span><strong>Educational Qualification</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li><strong>B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering</strong> from a recognized University/Institute.</li> <li><strong>M.Tech in Structural Engineering/Civil Engineering</strong> will be an added advantage.</li> </ul> <h3><span><strong>Experience</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li><strong>10–15 years</strong> of experience in <strong>Civil Design & Engineering</strong> for <strong>Solar, Renewable Energy, Power, EPC, or Infrastructure Projects</strong>.</li> <li>Experience in <strong>utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV projects</strong> is highly preferred.</li> <li>Minimum <strong>3–5 years</strong> of experience leading civil engineering/design teams.</li> </ul>
