As the Dispatch Specialist, you will be responsible for direct, effective and friendly communication with our drivers, and communicating issues both internally and externally. What you’ll do on a typical day: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Facilitate professional communication with our drivers over the phone and On-Board Computer System (OBCS)</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform essential AS-400 functions to maintain our computer systems</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Communicate issues with our internal and external customers</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Complete thorough documentation of all issues involving drivers and loads</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure a high level of on-time service is maintained.</li> </ul> What you need to succeed at GXO: At a minimum, you’ll need: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and U.S. and Canadian geography</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AS-400</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The ability to type 25 words per minute</li> </ul> It’d be great if you also have: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Transportation and call center/customer service experience</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Solid attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work collaboratively and get along with diverse personalities</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Solid organizational, project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and manage customer expectations</li> </ul> We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
