For more than five decades, Duke has been a leader in evidence-based obesity medicine, integrating medical management, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, behavioral health, exercise science, and patient education into a comprehensive model focused on long-term health outcomes. This position is centered on treating obesity as a chronic, complex medical disease through comprehensive, longitudinal care rather than episodic weight-loss interventions.
