This entry-level position focuses on preparing standard laboratory solutions and performing foundational wet lab tasks to ensure efficient daily operations.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Job Duties</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Assist senior researchers with sample dissection and tissue collection protocols.</li> <li>Accurately label tubes and experimental materials.</li> <li>Organize and maintain biological tissue storage systems. </li> <li>Prepare standard chemical solutions and media according to established lab protocols.</li> <li>Inventory lab supplies on a regular basis. </li> <li>Return clean glassware to its designated shelves.</li> <li>Execute other job-related duties and logistics as assigned by the supervisor or lab manager.</li> <li>Autoclave and sterilize laboratory media, glass beads, and experimental tubes.</li> <li>Aliquot antibiotics and chemical buffers into designated working volumes.</li> <li>Mount and prepare tissue sections on glass slides for microscopic imaging.</li> <li>Update and maintain the laboratory's chemical inventory system.</li> <li>Maintain regular, accurate documentation of all protocols and solution prep in a lab notebook.</li> <li>Perform other job related duties as assigned.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Minimum Qualifications</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>High School diploma or GED.</li> <li>No experience required.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Preferred Qualifications</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Candidate should have goals of pursuing career in biomedical sciences.</li> <li>Ability to work with Microsoft word and excel. </li> </ul></div></div></div><p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Work Authorization Requirement:</strong></p> <p><strong>This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.</strong> Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment. </p> <p> </p> <p>Baylor College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Equal Access Employer.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <h6><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:dimgray"></span></h6>
