Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.Supporting patient traigeAssessing, diagnosing and managing patients with a broad range of medical conditionsPrescribing safely and effectively in accordance with local and national guidance.Making appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.Managing test results, clinical correspondence and other associated administrative tasks.Participating in clinical meetings, significant event reviews and quality improvement activities.Supporting the training and development of other members of the practice team where appropriate.Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous clinical records and complying with GMC standards, NHS policies and practice procedures.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List. Completion of a recognised UK GP training programme or equivalent qualification. Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or working towards equivalent competence. Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) and commitment to maintaining clinical knowledge and skills. Appropriate indemnity cover for the role. Experience of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team.
Desirable
Previous experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting. Experience of working in a GP training practice. Experience supporting or supervising GP trainees, medical students or other healthcare learners. Experience of clinical audits, quality improvement projects or service development. Additional clinical skills or qualifications relevant to primary care. Experience using clinical systems such EMIS Web Understanding of current NHS primary care priorities and service models including CQC requirements
Experience Essential
Must have experience working within a NHS GP surgery within the UK for 18 months or more
