You will be the first person our patients and visitors meet, so a warm and helpful attitude is important. You will learn how to greet patients, answer phone calls, book appointments, and complete everyday administration tasks. You will work with a supportive team, receive on-the-job training, and gain valuable skills and a recognised qualification. Main duties of the job
Your duties will include welcoming patients and visitors, answering phone calls, booking and cancelling appointments, updating patient records, responding to enquiries, and carrying out general administrative tasks. You will also help keep the reception area organised and work with the team to ensure the practice runs smoothly while providing excellent customer service.

We are one of the largest training practices in Devon, most of the partners are GP trainers, involved in the education of student nurses, medical students, and a variety of doctor training posts. We are the Lead Practice of NEXUS Primary Care Network (PCN), that consists of five GP Practices and covers a population of 42,000 patients. Business Admin level 3 ApprenticeshipTraining in the workplace provided by PMA LtdFunctional skills maths and English, if requiredYou will have on the job training within the organisation and have an assigned assessor who will provide you with additional training sessions and assessments to gain the business administrator qualification.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Desirable
Previous experience in customer service, administration, or working with the public An interest in working in a healthcare environment
Qualifications Essential
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Desirable
Basic IT skills.
