About this role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Community Engagement Manager to play a pivotal role in building strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships between Sodexo, our client, and the communities surrounding our remote operations.

This role is central to fostering community partnerships, supporting local employment and enterprise opportunities, and ensuring our operations create lasting social value. You will be a visible and trusted presence both on-site and within local communities—driving engagement initiatives, supporting events, and strengthening meaningful connections.

This position involves weekly travel to remote sites, with flexibility required to extend time onsite to support mobilisation and operational priorities.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with site teams, Elders, Traditional Owners, and local communitiesAct as a key liaison between Sodexo, clients, and stakeholdersEnsure culturally respectful and inclusive engagementMaintain accurate records for reporting and complianceSupport operational teams in delivering contractual outcomesPartnership Development

Identify opportunities with local and Indigenous-owned businessesSupport business growth and sustainabilityPosition Sodexo as a trusted regional partnerEmployment & Recruitment

Promote local employment opportunitiesPartner with recruitment teams on local hiring strategiesSupport pathways into employment for community membersIndigenous Engagement

Work with Indigenous Affairs teams, Elders, and organisationsSupport Indigenous participation across employment and suppliersAssist with culturally significant initiatives and eventsEvents & Community Activation

Deliver community and Village events (e.g. NAIDOC Week, cultural celebrations)Encourage participation from residents and communitiesOpportunity & Project Development

Identify local project and service opportunitiesCollaborate internally to deliver shared outcomesPrioritise local employment where possibleGovernance & Reporting

Meet and document contractual engagement requirementsTrack and report on outcomes and social valueEnsure compliance with policies and client commitments Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or a similar roleStrong understanding of working with Indigenous communities and cultural protocolsExcellent relationship-building and communication skillsHigh attention to detail with strong reporting and documentation capabilityThe ability to work autonomously and manage competing prioritiesFlexibility to travel regularly and adapt to changing operational needs Opportunity to make a genuine social impact in regional and remote communitiesWork within a supportive and collaborative environmentBe part of meaningful initiatives that drive long-term community outcomes
