CIVIL ENGINEERING SPECIALIST / SERVICE TEAM MEMBER You prefer to work outdoors and love spending time on and around the water! 32-40 Monitor the maintenance of Dutch waterways and riverbanks Do you enjoy working outdoors and a varied job? In this role, one moment you'll be out on the water in the service boat inspecting and documenting damage that will later be repaired by our vessels. The next, you'll be driving the service van along the water on an inspection route and carrying out minor repairs yourself. Where will you be working? For our project, we oversee maintenance on the Lower Rhine, the Lek, the IJssel Delta, and the Twente Canals. This section consists of a total of approximately 250 km of river and 87 km of canal, including 49 fixed bridges, nine lock and weir complexes, one pumping station and outlet structure, and two control structures! 's Services The services we provide for waterway maintenance include: - Waterway maintenance (dredging); - Bank maintenance; - Landscape maintenance along the canals; - Pavement maintenance; - or the maintenance of mooring facilities at the complexes and in overnight harbors. Minor repairs you can do yourself include: securing navigation signs, repairing fencing, patching holes, and repairing pavement, as well as performing small-scale maintenance such as cleaning piers and clearing vegetation around safety fences. Who do you work with? This area is inspected and maintained by several service teams, of which you are a member. You usually inspect this work together with a colleague, but sometimes you do it on your own. Want to start together? That's an option, too. After the orientation period, you can head out together.
