About this role
Erasmus MC - Closing date 09-08-2026 - 3511 Job description Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic person eager to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical imaging research and enhancing our understanding of the brain? The BrainEcho Lab within the Department of Neuroscience at Erasmus MC is looking for a passionate PhD candidate to join our team and drive innovation in both 4-dimensional (4D) ultrasound imaging and automated image analysis. We are developing the next generation of 4D ultrasound imaging systems, allowing us to capture the complex vascular networks of the brain at 1000s of frames per second. Integrating automatic image analysis into this system is critical, due to the large amount of data and time-critical information needed for clinical decision making. In this role, you will develop automatic image analysis techniques, not only developing and testing machine learning models - but also designing and implementing experiments to generate robust training data for your models. Key Responsibilities: - Process and integrate multi-modality image and clinical data. - Develop and test machine learning models for automated analysis of 4D ultrasound image data. - Design and execute experiments to obtain suitable training data for developed models. - Contribute to scientific reports and publications that shape the future of medical imaging. - Collaborate closely with clinicians, engineers, and fellow researchers to bring your techniques to the clinic. If you are ready to tackle these challenges and make a significant impact on the field of biomedical imaging, we encourage you to apply for this exciting Ph.D. opportunity at Erasmus MC. Work environment A healthy population and excellence in healthcare through research and education. This is what Erasmus MC stands for. Conducting groundbreaking work, pushing boundaries and leading the way. In research, education, and healthcare. We are practical people with a high level...
