Main duties of the job The Complex Care Assistant will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to the client in his family home, which includes a warm environment with three pet dogs. The role involves assisting with the client's daily activities, such as trips to the beach, restaurants, and outdoor activities, as well as supporting the client's engagement with preferred interests like watching Mr Tumble and Peppa Pig, and playing with picture cards, toy cars, and animal toys. The successful candidate will need to be caring, calm, consistent, and confident in supporting complex needs and behaviors.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 3pm–7pm; occasional Sunday, 9am–5pm; 9am–5pm during school holidays

About the Client The client has an ischemic brain injury from birth and lives with:
Severe learning and behavioural difficulties
Epilepsy
Sensory processing disorder
The client lives in a warm family environment with three pet dogs (one Husky and two Shih Tzu Poodles) — the family manage all dog care. Interests & Daily Life The client enjoys a full and active life, including:
Trips to the beach and river
Restaurants, theatre, train rides, and car rides
Outdoor activities
Being read to and playing with staff
Watching Mr Tumble and Peppa Pig
Picture cards, toy cars, and animal toys
Your role will involve encouraging engagement, supporting routines, and helping the client enjoy meaningful daily experiences.
About You We’re looking for someone who is:
Caring, calm, and consistent
Confident supporting complex needs and behaviours
Comfortable working in the community
Flexible for bank / zero-hours shifts
A full UK driver (essential)
Experience in complex care, learning disabilities, epilepsy, or behavioural support is highly desirable.

Qualifications Essential
Experience in complex care, learning disabilities, epilepsy, or behavioral support is highly desirable. The candidate must also hold a full UK driving license, which is essential for the role.
