Discover more via our website. Your next career opportunity In this continuing role, you will support large first-year biology practicals across multiple disciplines. You will prepare experiments, assist in classes, and help maintain safe, high-quality laboratories for students. What you will deliver:

• Prepare, set up and dismantle practical classes, including materials, equipment and waste disposal across teaching laboratories.

• Attend laboratory classes to support students, demonstrators and academics, troubleshooting equipment and practical issues in real time.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, bookings and inventories, ensuring consumables, chemicals and specimens are available and correctly stored.

• Follow and help review OHS procedures, risk assessments and SOPs, serving as first aider and floor warden.

• Engage in continuous improvement and professional development, contributing ideas to enhance practical classes and student experience.

You may be a great fit if you:

• Hold a degree in Science with a major in Botany, Zoology, Genetics or Ecology.

• Bring experience preparing and supporting biology laboratory classes, ideally across multiple first-year subject areas.

• Demonstrate competence in several techniques, such as media preparation, aseptic methods, dissection or molecular biology.

• Apply strong organisational and time management skills to balance competing deadlines in a busy teaching environment.

• Understand laboratory safety requirements and follow OHS procedures when handling chemicals, equipment and biological materials.

• Use accurate record-keeping and basic IT skills, including Office365, databases, spreadsheets and online teaching platforms.
