Health Research, Inc. (HRI) at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Research Technologist to support groundbreaking research in the Department of Urology. Working with Dr. Eric Kauffman and Dr. Blake Wilde, you'll contribute to studies focused on kidney cancer biology, tumor metabolism, and identifying new treatment opportunities for patients.
In this role, you'll work across two collaborative laboratories, helping researchers generate the data and discoveries that move promising scientific ideas closer to clinical impact. The starting annual salary for this position is $52,979 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.
What You'll Do: As a Research Technologist, you will: Support preclinical, translational, and clinical research projects focused on kidney cancer Perform laboratory experiments and research procedures using established protocols Assist with data collection, organization, and documentation Collaborate with investigators, scientists, students, and laboratory staff across multiple projects Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and research records Ensure accurate experimental and regulatory documentation Contribute to research studies that may support scientific publications, presentations, and grant applications Help maintain a productive, organized, and safe laboratory environment
What You'll Bring: We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented research professional who enjoys problem-solving, learning new techniques, and collaborating with others.
Preferred qualifications include experience in two or more of the following areas: Cell culture Molecular cloning Western blotting CRISPR/Cas9 technologies Metabolomics or LC-MS sample preparation Recombinant protein production and purification Enzymatic assays RT-qPCR Mouse breeding, handling, and animal procedures Microscopy Immunofluorescence or immunohistochemistry Flow cytometry Bioinformatics
You'll be especially successful in this role if you have: Experience working in a collaborative research environment The ability to coordinate work across multiple investigators or research teams Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience maintaining accurate laboratory and regulatory records Experience contributing data for scientific abstracts, publications, or grant applications A desire to continuously learn and grow within a research-focused environment Peer-reviewed publications (preferred but not required)

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience 1. Master’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or 2. Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.
NOTE: Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
• Experience working in a collaborative research environment and coordinating projects across multiple investigators or teams. • Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following techniques: cell culture, molecular cloning, western blotting, CRISPR/Cas9 approaches, metabolomics or LC-MS sample preparation, recombinant protein production and purification, enzymatic assays, RT-qPCR, mouse breeding, mouse handling and animal procedures, microscopy, immunofluorescence/immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, or bioinformatics. • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate experimental and regulatory records. • Experience contributing data for scientific abstracts, publications, or grant applications. • Published peer-reviewed research is desirable but not required
