Under the supervision of the Manager, Telecommunications, responsible for inventory, management, delivery and installation of all layer 1, physical services provided by the Information Technology department. The incumbent will work with construction and development teams to ensure proper service and technology alignment. In addition, the incumbent will follow a formal intake process to deliver new and existing services to customers.
Here is how the Telecommunications Administrator will help:
• During construction and development projects, they will act as a lead intermediary between technology and implementation teams to ensure that current standards and inventories of systems are maintain and distributed, as well as incoming needs are properly relayed back to the applicable technology groups.
• Work with internal and external customers to understand their needs and align them with existing services, or scope new requests through a formal intake process.
• Will interface requests and needs to the business relationship team as needed.
• Responsible to help customers browse new or existing services and provide direction.
• Will ensure that any delivery of existing or new layer 1 physical services are properly delivered, and will troubleshoot any issues that arrive.
• Will participate in the management of relationships with vendors to ensure continuity of services, changes, additions or removals as needed.
• First point of contact for users in the delivery of services, either providing new services and products, replacing aging assets, or decommissioning older services.
• Will assist in identifying wiring impacted by construction or wiring requests from internal or external customers.
• Will be responsible for processing system tickets for telecommunications request for phone connections, physical handset programming issues and completing cross-connects for in-house fiber and ethernet switching.
• Will be responsible for database logging to reflect additions, deletions, changes or updates to our physical infrastructure database.
• Will be accountable to maintain the database for Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) which locates the area where an emergency call (911) was placed from for emergency services location.

Qualifications Requirements to apply for the role of Telecommunications Administrator are:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university
• Five (5) years’ work-related experience in sales, service, relationship management, or other related fields.
• Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license. Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.
We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:
• Understanding of high-speed data communication networks, ethernet, WiFi, LoRaWAN, cellular and RF (two-way radio) and other related systems using physical layer 1 transmission mediums such as fiber, copper and wireless.
• Knowledge of servers, switching gear, operating systems, and corporate applications, their deployment, and functionality.
• Experience in various methods of telecommunication, its installation and distribution including, but not limited to, traditional voice telephony, cellular, neutral host-DAS, push to talk, racking, wiring, patching and routing.
• Ability to learn at a high level, the different types of operational technologies, work with business owners to understand those systems and their needs, and represent ACAA services and capabilities in their regard when needed.
• Ability when talking to vendors and customers, especially in troubleshooting or difficult situations. Incumbent excels at face-to-face discussions with users and enjoys working directly with others.
• Ability to work as a Change Agent, driving adoption of advanced analytics across the company.

Conditions The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Subject to remain on duty beyond normal hours or be recalled to duty up to 24 hours per day, seven days a week during emergency situations or other extensive periods.
