About this role
Full time, permanent position based in Dandenong South, VIC Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.An extra 1.5% superannuation rate paid on top of national standard super rate.Lead and supervise a team of laboratory scientists and technicians performing air toxics analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Manage laboratory workflows related to sampling media extraction, sample preparation, and instrumental analysis.Manage and maintain analytical instruments such as GC-MS and thermal desorption systems.Review and approve laboratory data and technical reports.Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant accreditations.Ensure compliance with laboratory quality systems (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025) and method validation requirementsThe successful candidate will provide technical leadership, staff supervision, and quality oversight within a specialised environmental laboratory. Essential Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline.Significant laboratory experience analysing air toxics or environmental contaminants.Experience with gas chromatography techniques (GC-MS, GC-FID) or similar analytical instrumentation.Demonstrated experience supervising laboratory staff or managing technical teams.Strong understanding of laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures.Preferred Skills and Success Profile
