Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the Accounting & Payroll Specialist is a key member of the administrative team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm's accounting and payroll functions. This role offers a diverse mix of responsibilities, including payroll administration, trust and general accounting, financial reporting, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Manage day-to-day general accounting and trust accounting transactions.
• Process payroll for salaried and hourly employees and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit CRA payroll remittances, including CPP, EI, and income tax deductions.
• Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and year-end T4 and T4A filings.
• Coordinate with Human Resources to track employee leave balances, vacation accruals, and payroll reconciliations.
• Process employee expense reimbursements.
• Manage accounts payable, including invoice review, payment processing, and vendor communications.
• Administer employee benefits programs and liaise with benefits providers as required.
• Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations across multiple accounts with a high volume of transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Support capital asset tracking and management.
• Liaise with financial institutions, service providers, and external stakeholders.<span
