About this role

Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Community-based agency. Social service or charity agency. Associations and non profit organizations. Vocational evaluation and training centre. Tasks: Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background and career goals. Refer clients to the appropriate external services. Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews. Perform administrative tasks. Administer and interpret tests designed to determine the interests, aptitudes and abilities of clients. Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information. Provide consulting services to community groups and agencies, businesses, industry and other organizations involved in providing community-based career planning support or resources. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals. Conduct research. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
