Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Adult ASD Assessor and Reviewer to join our Neurodevelopmental Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality adult Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic assessments within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
You will undertake comprehensive autism assessments, contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions, and provide person-centred care throughout the diagnostic pathway. The role offers the opportunity to work within an innovative, clinician-led service focused on improving access to neurodevelopmental assessments and delivering excellent patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
As an Adult ASD Assessor, you will:
Conduct structured adult ASD diagnostic assessments, including developmental history, functional impairment, co-existing conditions, and risk assessment.Utilise recognised assessment tools and collateral information to inform diagnostic decisions.Prepare clear, comprehensive, and timely clinical reports and correspondence.Provide feedback to patients and develop appropriate outcome plans.Present complex cases within multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.Contribute to clinical audit, service evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, and incident reviews.Support the induction, training, and development of colleagues.Work in accordance with safeguarding, governance, and regulatory requirements.

The post holder will be responsible for leading and delivering adult ASD diagnostic assessments in accordance with service protocols and recognised best practice.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality autism assessments for adults referred into the service.Applying clinical knowledge and professional judgement to diagnostic decision-making.Producing detailed assessment reports that meet professional and organisational standards.Participating in MDT discussions and contributing to formulation and diagnostic outcomes.Working collaboratively with medical, nursing, psychology, therapy, operational, and governance colleagues.Identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately.Supporting service development and pathway improvement initiatives.Ensuring compliance with organisational policies, information governance requirements, and professional standards.Maintaining high standards of patient experience throughout the assessment journey.
