Farleigh Hospice is a high performing organisation providing specialist palliative and end of life care for people with life limiting illness in the Mid Essex region.Our team at Farleigh has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community we serve, and we are looking for highly motivated Education Practitioner to join our Education team.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a passionate and experienced clinician to join Farleigh Hospice, with a key role in supporting the Hospice Education Collaborative, a partnership of three adult hospices working across Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) to develop and strengthen the specialist palliative and end-of-life care workforce.
Based primarily at Farleigh Hospice, you will help design, develop and deliver high-quality education and training programmes for hospice staff, health and social care professionals, and external partners across the Integrated Care System. Working closely with colleagues across the collaborative, you will help shape innovative learning opportunities, support workforce development initiatives and 'grow your own' career pathways, and promote excellence in palliative and end-of-life care through evidence-based practice.

Providing education and training for those who work in any of the local hospices and those external to the hospice as part of the three adult hospices education collaboration across East, West Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) integrated Care System (ICS)
Plan and developing sessions, reviewing training and education across SNEE
Supporting education programmes for hospice staff and responding to urgent or individual training needs if they arise.
To support and expand the grow your own pathways for staff across clinical teams
The post holder will be required to work in any of the hospice education bases
Work autonomously to provide specialist palliative advice and education/training to other health and social care professionals within and outside the hospice and promote evidence-based practice.
Because of the special nature of the Hospice and its work the postholder may on occasion be asked to undertake other duties to help maintain our high standard of care.

Evidence of highly developed specialist EoL and palliative care knowledge underpinned by theory and experience Knowledge of team leading or management Professional qualification in teaching e.g. AET, CET, DET, PGCE (or willing to work towards) Additional IT literacy skills (Teams) Knowledge of educational and practice development related initiatives in the statutory and voluntary sectors Knowledge of assessment, education and development programmes and design
Experience Essential
Varied post-registration experience in nursing Minimum of two years experience in specialist palliative or end of life care Proven oral/written communication and interpersonal skills Willingness and ability to learn new skills Proven ability to keep abreast of current research and developments in palliative and end of life care, and adapting teaching accordingly Understanding of evidence based practice and ability to incorporate evidence into all areas of teaching Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail Experience of effective team working
