Job summary
Farleigh Hospice is a high performing organisation providing specialist palliative and end of life care for people with life limiting illness in the Mid Essex region.Our team at Farleigh has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community we serve, and we are looking for highly motivated administrator to join our Education team.
Main duties of the job
The role involves organising teaching sessions, creating booking forms, attendance lists and evaluation forms, taking minutes of meetings, producing education reports for outside agencies and performing all administrative tasks for virtual teaching sessions.You will also work alongside the HR team in adding education events to our learn system
You will be a highly organised person with proven secretarial skills using Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint and electronic databases

Job description Job responsibilities
To act as administrator for the Education Team, the work will include project and development work
To organise meetings as required including organising room bookings and managing electronic diaries
To attend and take notes of meetings as required
Set up attendance sheets in conjunction with HR; to enable people to book onto training and educational events
Monitor bookings on training events to ensure that these are adequately subscribed, advising the Education Team if any educational event is inadequately subscribed in good time to increase recruitment or cancel the event if necessary
Organise educational events, including occasional conferences and similar events, producing flyers, advertising, taking bookings, organising catering and ensuring the Welcome Team are informed

Experience Essential
Administrative experience and accurate word processing skills
Desirable
Recent administration experience within health care Experience of effective team working
Other requirements Essential
Ability to deal with people and situations sensitively and with confidentiality at all times Completion of all mandatory training within the first anniversary of appointment Willingness and ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the team and Farleigh Hospice
Qualifications Essential
Qualification or equivalent experience in Microsoft Office Word Processing Qualification or equivalent experience in Excel/Spreadsheets English and Maths grade A-C or equivalent
Skills/Ability/Knowledge Essential
Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills Willingness and ability to learn new skills Effective telephone skills Ability to set up and maintain office systems Ability to prioritise own work load effectively and to work on own initiative Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail Word, excel and power point IT packages Knowledge and experience of database and network systems
Desirable
Ability to establish and build effective working relationships, within the organisation with colleagues and volunteers and in other partner organisations
