If no Primary Care Paramedic applicants, we will consider applications from Ambulance Operators/Attendants. We prioritize candidates based on their qualifications in the following order: Primary Care Paramedic, or Ambulance Operator/Attendant.If the competition is awarded to an Ambulance Operator/Attendant as the next highest classification, they will be awarded as temporary full time (TFT) for a period of one year, with possibility of extension. Job Summary:The Primary Care Paramedic (or Ambulance Operator/Attendant),works as an integral part of the para-medicine program. The successful candidate will work within their scope of practice, including responding to emergency and routine calls, providing skilled basic and advanced emergency care or assistance to persons suffering from a variety of injuries or illnesses. The base for this service is located at Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale.Duties/Job Demands:The Primary Care Paramedic works as an active member of the health care team providing pre-hospital assessment and medical care to people with acute illnesses or injuries while maintaining a high standard of care to the patients. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed through observation, examination of records and reports, and the presence or absence of valid complaints. The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) functions as part of an interdisciplinary team within healthcare facility units and ensures client and staff safety, and other related duties as required.The Ambulance Operator/Attendant will be responsible for skilled work in the operation of ambulances in transporting patients while exercising care and skill in driving. The successful incumbent will provide assistance to the paramedicine staff in patient care, such as proper lifting of patients and other related duties as required.Job Demands:By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):?
