About this role
*SJW Decks is hiring a Carpenter?s Helper for the 2026 season. We?re looking for a reliable, motivated individual to assist with railings, deck and fence building through the end of the year. Previous deck-building experience is an asset, but not required. We?re willing to train the right person.*
*The ideal candidate will have:*
* 1+ years of construction or carpentry experience * Basic hand tools (including a pouch, impact, and drill) * A reliable vehicle and a valid driver?s license to get to job sites * A positive attitude and strong work ethic * Willingness to learn and take direction * Strong attention to detail
*Responsibilities include:*
* Assisting the lead carpenter with various tasks on-site * Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for projects * Maintaining a clean and organized work environment * Loading and unloading materials and supplies * Following safety protocols
