Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Hog and pig farming. Dairy. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation provided. Tasks: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Clear fields of wood and stones. Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals. Develop specific plans to prioritize. Diagnose livestock health issues. Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses. Handling animals. Marking livestock as proof of ownership. Mixing fertilizer. Monitoring animal health. Perform animal grooming activities . Perform livestock feeding. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Prepare cattle for exhibition. Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly . Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Milk cows. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry.
