About this role

Your mission <strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Key Responsibilities</span></strong><br><ul style="margin-top:0cm;"><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Define and maintain the top-level aircraft system architecture, ensuring cohesive integration of all subsystems.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Perform functional decomposition of aircraft systems including avionics, propulsion, guidance &amp; control, and payload integration.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Develop and manage top-level system requirements with full traceability to subsystems and mission objectives.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Provide oversight of Verification &amp; Validation planning and execution, ensuring system-level requirements are verified and validated according to industry standards.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Lead interface management between mechanical, avionics, software, and payload subsystems.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Ensure regulatory compliance for UAV platforms, including SC Light UAS and other applicable standards.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Collaborate with design, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams to ensure compliance requirements across the UAV development lifecycle.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Guide and mentor junior system engineers, fostering a strong systems engineering culture.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Maintain and update system engineering artifacts, including architecture models, interface control documents, requirement specifications, and design rationale.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Participate in risk assessment, safety analysis, and airworthiness activities, ensuring robust and compliant system design. </span></li></ul><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;"> </span></strong><br><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Competencies &amp; Duties</span></strong><br><ul style="margin-top:0cm;"><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Working independently and responsibly. Perform tasks as described above.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Compliance according to ANAVIA’ employment contract, compliance with company’ safety instructions and employee’ safety requirements, compliance with employers’ quality manual, work instructions and corresponding process specifications and instructions.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">International travel requires up to 25% of employee’ working hours.</span></li></ul><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;"> </span> Your profile <strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Qualifications</span></strong><br><ul style="margin-top:0cm;"><li><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Education: </span></strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.</span></li><li><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Experience: </span></strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">10+ years of experience in aerospace or UAV systems engineering, with strong exposure to system architecture, requirements management, and V&amp;V. Proven track record in leading system engineering teams and defining aircraft system architecture.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, including SC Light UAS and CS-27. Experience in requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or equivalent). Familiarity with systems engineering standards (INCOSE, ISO 15288, ARP4754A).</span></li><li><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Skills: </span></strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Strong knowledge of Verification &amp; Validation planning, testing, and integration.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">High analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to balance technical rigor with practical engineering constraints.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Strong attention to detail and capability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation. Proactive mindset with the ability to drive system-level decisions and identify technical risks early<strong>.</strong></span></li><li><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Communication: </span></strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and regulators.</span></li><li><strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Language: </span></strong><span style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Proficiency in English (oral and written).
