An opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse who wants to make a difference in our patient's lives. The successful candidate will join a great team of existing Nurses & HCAs in our friendly practice.

Please note this is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Practice Nurse is to deliver safe, high quality primary care nursing services to the practice population. Working within the NMC Code of Conduct and professional boundaries, the post holder will deliver primary health care interventions and care. The post holder will support service development, the safe delivery of policy and procedures, and demonstrate effective professional nurse standards, advocacy and performance.

Lakeside Healthcare at Oundle is part of Lakeside Healthcare, which serves the healthcare needs across three counties Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.

We are a well-established semi-rural practice with a growing patient list size of over 10,600. We have a mix of Partner GPs, nursing team and social prescribers.

For many years we have been at the forefront embracing innovations in General Practice, to the benefit of both our patients and staff.

As part of the nursing, you will be delivering a multi function service such as Cervical Smears, Wound Care, Travel advice and treatment room functions.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a primary care setting Involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines Experience of managing/dealing with the public/patients Experience of audit and/or research Proactive in improving and influencing the patient care pathway/journey Demonstrates the ability to manage clinical risk and has an understanding of healthcare governance systems Experience of using clinical systems and Microsoft office

Desirable

Management of long-term conditions Participation in quality initiatives such as clinical benchmarking Experience of SystmOne

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse Degree in healthcare/Nursing NMC 1st level registration Evidence of continued professional development Mentorship course or equivalent

Desirable

Primary Care Nursing Qualification Accredited Diploma level training in chronic disease management Clinical supervision training and experience
