About this role

Job summary

We are seeking two experienced GP Receptionists / Care Coordinators to join our friendly and supportive practice team on a part-time basis. These roles are within a busy GP surgery supporting clinicians and administrative staff in delivering high-quality patient care.

Applicants must have previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting and be confident using SystmOne. Knowledge of Anima is desirable. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This is also an excellent opportunity to develop further skills in general practice administration, including exposure to medical secretarial work, referrals, scanning, and clinical coding.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will support the delivery of efficient and effective primary care services by acting as a key point of contact for patients and supporting clinical and administrative workflows.

Main duties include:

Receiving and handling patient enquiries via telephone and face-to-face

Managing appointments, cancellations, and patient signposting

Using Anima to manage workflow and patient requests

Maintaining accurate patient records using SystmOne

Supporting care coordination and patient follow-up

Processing clinical correspondence and prescriptions

Supporting clinicians and wider team with daily workflow

Providing a professional and efficient reception serviceWorking Pattern

2 part-time posts available

Shifts between 08:0018:30 on a rota basis

Flexibility is essential

Additional hours may be available for the right candidate

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Previous experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting Experience using SystmOne Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work accurately in a busy environment Good IT skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritise workload and work as part of a team Ability to work shifts between 08:0018:30

Desirable

Previous GP receptionist or care coordinator experience Experience with care navigation or workflow support Experience with Anima triage or similar Interest in developing skills in GP administration (referrals, scanning, coding)
