Main duties of the job We Are With You in Kent for Young People is the commissioned provider of substance use support for young people aged between 10-25 years old. We offer a range of free and confidential services to young people, professionals and their families. As a service we offer both short term and long term one to one work with young people and a range of group work options.

All interventions stem from the service's ethos of providing accurate, individualised and non-judgemental support and guidance around drugs and alcohol. This role involves working one to one with young people aged 10-18 years old delivering a range of harm reduction interventions in relation to drugs and alcohol including ketamine, cannabis, alcohol, cocaine and benzodiazepines.

The role will require the applicant to work with complex 10-18 year old substance using young people. They will be expected to show initiative, forward thinking and independence in their work and show exemplary recording in line with processes and policies. Our young people require a holistic approach and may be experiencing mental health challenges, missing episodes, offending and familial breakdown. As such, you will work closely with external agencies and families to help our young people achieve the best outcomes.

As a Young Persons Worker you will carry and manage a caseload of young people, engaging them in sessions in the community such as at school, their home or in community buildings. Each worker has a designated area of work within Kent, (this role is to cover East Kent). You will be paid mileage at a rate of 55p per mile.

This position is offered on a full time (37.5 hours), permanent basis working Monday - Friday. As a Young Person's Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per year.
