About this role

Job summary The Night Care Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of residents throughout the night within Jewish Cares residential and nursing homes. Working on a rota basis that includes 12-hour night shifts, the postholder will provide high-quality, person-centred care to older people, including those living with dementia and complex care needs. Duties include assisting with personal care, responding to call bells, carrying out regular welfare checks, supporting mobility, administering medication (where trained), and maintaining accurate records. The role is essential in creating a calm, secure, and reassuring environment overnight, working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and resident wellbeing.

Main duties of the job We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to join our dedicated care team. You will support residents overnight with personal care, wellbeing checks, medication (where trained), and responding to any needs that arise, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and respected at all times. You will work as part of a supportive team on a rota basis, including weekends, delivering high-quality care that promotes dignity, independence, and reassurance throughout the night. As a Care Assistant, youll support residents with daily living, from personal care to mealtimes and activities, always taking a person-centred approach. Youll get to know each resident as an individualwhat matters to them, what makes them smileand tailor your support to help them live well.
