Job summary The Relief Registered Nurse will deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care across Jewish Cares residential and nursing services on a flexible bank basis, covering shifts as required. The postholder will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating person-centred care for older people, including those living with dementia and complex health needs. They will lead and support care teams on shift, ensuring high standards of clinical practice, safeguarding, medication management, and accurate documentation in line with NMC and organisational requirements. The role also involves responding to changes in residents conditions, escalating concerns appropriately, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to promote dignity, wellbeing, and quality of life. This is a vital frontline clinical role ensuring continuity of safe, high-quality care across services.
Main duties of the job We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Relief Registered Nurse to join our dedicated care teams on a flexible bank basis. You will provide high-quality nursing care to residents, supporting their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing while leading care teams on shift. The role includes administering medication, monitoring residents health, responding to clinical changes, and maintaining accurate records. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, person-centred care in a calm and supportive environment, working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals. About the Role As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to residents, supporting their physical, emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing. Working closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring outstanding standards of care and clinical practice.
You will:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centred care Monitor residents health and wellbeing, responding promptly to changes in condition Safely administer and manage medication in line with NMC and regulatory guidelines Lead, support, and motivate care teams during shifts Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation Promote safeguarding, dignity, and high-quality care standards Support and develop colleagues through guidance, supervision, and training Work collaboratively with families and external healthcare professionals About You We are looking for compassionate and professional nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional care.
You will have:
Current NMC registration as an RGN or RMN A Nursing degree (Bachelors or Masters) At least 1 years nursing experience in a care or clinical setting Experience leading or supporting care teams Experience administering medication and maintaining accurate records Strong communication and organisational skills A positive, flexible, and team-focused approach Experience working with older people and individuals living with dementia is desirable.

Shifts are:
7:45 8:15 (12.5 hour shifts including breaks) 11.5 hours paid due to 15-minute handover meetings
