Job summary
The Operational Team Manager role provides operational management to one of Northpoints clinical teams who deliver both Low and High Intensity Psychological Interventions to people living in, and who are registered with a GP, in Leeds. The role involves supporting service delivery and staff management in a high-volume clinical service.
Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities of the post includes
Hold day-to-day responsibility for team delivery, by acting as the first point of contact for staff on operational issues
Provide line management supervision, including caseload supervision, to named team members, facilitating access to training and development and evaluating staff work performance in line with service and organisational policies
Liaise with the LMWS Clinical Leads, and clinical supervisors, ensuring that the team receive appropriate levels of clinical supervision, in line with recognised best practice
Ensure there are sufficient staff in place to deliver the contracted levels of service delivery, planning where possible for staff changes (e.g. maternity leave, long-term sick-leave) in order to minimise impact on service delivery, and leading on the recruitment and induction of any new staff, in line with LMWS and Northpoint policies and procedures
Contribute to effective systems of communication, consultation, referral, and liaison between colleagues and teams in LMWS and other agencies, in particular around care pathways for clients
Represent LMWS and Northpoint at local forums, external meetings, etc
Contribute to promoting the LMWS particularly to client groups who experience health inequalities
Support the involvement of clients in service developments where appropriate through coproduction mechanisms such as qualitative feedback forms, consultation exercises, involvement in patient groups, etc
Support staff to ensure client records and monitoring systems are maintained and comply with LMWS and regulatory standards
Ensure any safeguarding or risk issues are identified quickly and that staff are supported to manage these appropriately within existing policy frameworks
Facilitate the development of service protocols, and practice guidelines as required, taking account of partner provider joint protocols and procedures
To be involved with duty manager support for LMWS therapy staff and be included in the rota for this
Lead on managing any grievances, complaints & disciplinary issues arising within the Team, and take appropriate action in line with Northpoint policies and procedures
Highlight any significant clinical concerns, ethical issues or logistical challenges to the Clinical Lead and/or Head of Service, and to work collaboratively with colleagues to address these

Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) delivers patient focused and evidence based Talking Therapies for people with common mental health problems.
LMWS is a partnership between Leeds Community Health Care NHS Trust, Leeds GP Confederation, Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust, Northpoint, Inspire North, Touchstone, and Womens Counselling and Therapies Service.
The service operates a stepped care system, providing evidence based NICE guidance led interventions appropriate to the clients presenting mental health problems. These include Computerised Guided Self Help, Psychoeducation classes, Low and High Intensity CBT, EMDR, IPT, Counselling for Depression and DIT.

This is a great opportunity to join Northpoint as an Operational Team Manager within our Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS).
You will join us on a fixed-term basis (up to 12 months maternity cover), part-time (28 hours per week) on a salary of £39,509 per annum pro rata (£49,387 FTE per annum) - AfC Band 7.

What you will be doing as our Operational Team Manager:
You will be a key part of the LMWS, operationally supporting and leading one of our Talking Therapies teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health support across Leeds. These include Guided Self Help, Psycho-Educational Classes, CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, EMDR, Counselling for Depression, and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy.
You will be responsible for:
Leading, motivating and supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health support.
Providing line management, supervision and development opportunities to employees, supporting both wellbeing and performance.
Ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the service, including workforce planning and managing service delivery requirements.
Working closely with clinical leads and partner organisations to ensure people receive safe, effective and timely support.
Supporting continuous improvement, service development and positive outcomes for the communities we serve.
What are we looking for in our ideal Operational Team Manager?
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working in a varied, people-facing role.
A professional counselling, psychotherapy or related qualification from a BACP/BABCP accredited programme (or equivalent), with appropriate professional registration.
A minimum of two years' experience people management in mental health services.
Confident leadership skills and a good understanding of common mental health problems.
Good verbal, written and numeracy skills and IT literacy
Confidence in working both independently and as part of a wider team
A commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and supporting people to take an active role in their wellbeing.
